Description

The name Blackbutt is derived from the appearance of the tree after a bushfire whereby the butt of the tree becomes significantly darker.  This species is also known as Coastal Blackbutt.

​

Blackbutt is generally straight grained with an even texture.

​

It is fire resistant and can be used in bushfire prone areas provided it has a thickness greater

than 18mm.
